General information on the Congress

The 5th BGS Congress Geophysics at the Cross-Roads, will be organized under patronage the City of Belgrade, hosted by Balkan Geophysical Society and

Association of Geophysicists of Serbia, in cooperation with EAGE, SEG and EneRG (European Network for Research in Geo-Energy).

Promoters of the Congress are: Aldo Vesnaver (OGS - Trieste, Italy), and Milovan Urosevic (Curtin University, Perth, Australia).

Co-organizer of the 5Th BGS Congers and Special Event on CCS is UNESCO.

Following societies promote the 5th Congress: AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists), IUGS (International Union of Geological Sciences) and IUGG (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics).




During the Congress, 2009 Year of Science as well as International Year of the Planet Earth is celebrated.



The following ministries and institutions are supporting the event:Ministry of Science and Development, Ministry of Mining and Energy, Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Secretariat of Energy of Vojvodina and Chamber of Commerce of Serbia. Co-organizers are: Tourist Organization of Serbia, Convention Bureau of Serbia, Tourist Organization of Belgrade, Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute of Belgrade, Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia, as well as the Institute for Nature Protection of Serbia.
